A year on from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Brits and Ukrainians across the regions are holding events to mark the anniversary, mourn those lost, and celebrate Ukraine's resilience.
We have compiled a list of events being held across the North East that you can attend to show your support for our friends in Ukraine.
Anniversary of Resistance: Rally for Ukraine's Freedom, Market Square, Durham.
Students Tetiana Loiko and Alya Mazurkevych have organised a demonstration to commemorate the anniversary of Russia's invasion, as well as to "stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine who continue to resist aggression and fight for their freedom."
The organisers say: "Let's come together to honour the memory of those who have lost their lives, raise awareness about the ongoing conflict, and show our support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"Spread the word and bring your friends, family, and colleagues. Together we can make a difference and send a message of hope and solidarity to those who are fighting for their rights and their country."
The rally will begin at 1 pm.

Candlelit Vigil of Remembrance, Terrace Green, Seaham.
Residents of Seaham will take to the streets to mark a year of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Organised by the town council, the event will commence at 6:30 pm.
Anniversary of the Ukraine War, Durham Cathedral, Durham.
The cathedral is marking the anniversary of the Ukraine war on Friday with a day of prayer for peace and justice. The day includes a live-streamed prayer in the morning on Facebook, prayers read by Ukrainian and other symbolic guests throughout the day, along with specially themed Eucharist (at 12.30 pm) and Evensong (5.30 pm) services.
Together with Ukraine Rally, Grey's Monument, Newcastle.
Since the beginning of the war, regular demonstration shave been staged at Grey's monument, in the centre of Newcastle.
The year anniversary of the conflict will be no different, with a peaceful rally from 10.30 am til 12.30 pm to mark "our joint strength bravery, and unity, and our choice to stand up to evil."

Sunderland for Ukraine concert, Salvation Army Church, Sunderland.
On Sunday February 26, Sunderland For Ukraine, Bracelets and Peace, and the Salvation Army are hosting a charity concert in support of British and Polish volunteers that are risking their lives to deliver humanitarian aid to wartorn Ukraine.
The concert will run from 4 pm til 6.30 pm, and attendees are invited to try delicious home-cooked Ukrainian food following the event.
