As the dog had been found straying, the defendant was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £100, which was unpaid and a case file was prepared for the courts.
The defendant did not attend court, however, the case was heard in their absence.
According to court documents, the defendant was charged with the offence of allowing a dog to stray in a public place "which is a breach of the Public Space Protection Order and now the defendant has costs which total £608 to pay".
