A new hair salon has appeared in one of Darlington’s most picturesque area, on Cockerton Green.
Ju’s Hairdressing opened at the end of January and is located on a row of shops opposite Cockerton Green.
Lithuanian-born Jurate Zarnauskaite, or Ju as she is known, has years of hairdressing experience in and around Darlington and has worked in Cockerton’s Talking Heads salon.
It has always been an ambition of hers to have her own business though and she is over the moon to open her salon.

Ju said: “Business has been steady since I opened at the end of January. I’ve always loved cutting and styling hair because it makes people happy, so I love it when people walk out happy with their hair.
“People have been very supportive and we had an open evening on Tuesday, January 31 with prosecco and it went really well so I’m looking forward to seeing how the business goes and hopefully build up a good customer base.”
Pictures on the Hair by Ju Facebook page reveal some of Ju’s handiwork with hair transformations.
Posting on the page, Ju said: “First week in the bag, BOOM! The power of support is just incredible, thank you everyone who came to check out the start of my new journey, it really means a lot. Glad to be back doing your hair again guys.”

The business isn’t the only one to appear in Cockerton lately, with Cockerton Pizza on Woodland Road and Dough on West Auckland Road also having popped up in recent months.
Although the area is home to established hair salons including W Hairdressing on the Green, Talking Heads on Woodland Road, Changes Unisex Salon, and Trish Brown Hairdressing, choice can never be a bad thing.
Ju’s Hairdressing is open from Tuesday – Saturday with opening hours of 9-5 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9-7 on Thursdays, 9-6 on Fridays and 9-4 on Saturdays.
