Three suspected dealers are to face court proceedings after the seizure of illicit drugs, worth an estimated £100,000 in sale terms.
Northumbria Police said in, “a further takedown of organised crime”, as part of the force’s Operation Sentinel drive, five warrants were executed at addresses across Newcastle, last Friday (February 10).
It resulted in the recovery of a total of 1.2kg of suspected Ketamine, a class B drug, and a similar amount of the class A substance MDMA (ecstasy) from an address on Warkworth Street, in Lemington.

Six people were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences as part of the co-ordinated operation.

Two men, aged 28 and 22, and a 56-year-old woman were charged with conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs and have been remanded in custody pending court appearances next month.
A 50-year-old woman remains, “under investigation”, and two men, aged 19 and 23, were released on police bail.
Speaking about the force’s continued activity to tackle illegal drug supply, Detective Sergeant Kate Barr, of Northumbria Police, said: “This is a fantastic result for our communities, who do not deserve to have organised criminals operating on their doorstep.

“Thanks to our Neighbourhood Support officers, working with in conjunction with Serious and Organised Crime officers, three people suspected of supplying dangerous substances, have been arrested and charged, and more than two kilos of drugs have been seized and taken out of circulation.”

Det Sgt Barr added: “This activity will continue as part of our dedicated Operation Sentinel.
“We make no apologies for our stance towards this type of criminality.”
The charged trio, men from near the centre of Newcastle, and a woman from the Lemington area of the city, will appear at Newcastle Crown Court, on Monday March 13.
