A crash on the A19 near New Herrington this morning resulted in a road closure and traffic delays.
The incident occurred on the A19 northbound from A690 Durham Road (Herrington Interchange) to A183 at around 7:15am this morning (Wednesday, February 15).
The accident involved two vehicles and the emergency services were quickly on the scene but fortunately the road has since reopened.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At 7.15am today, we received a report of a two-vehicle collision on the A19 northbound in Sunderland, close to the turn-off for the A183.
“No-one is believed to have been seriously injured and the road is fully open.”
