A North East woman was fined over £400 after she failed to send her child to school.
Miss Toni Hill, of Maple Avenue, Thornaby in Stockton-on-Tees, had her case heard before Teesside Magistrates court on February 2, 2023.
She was charged with two cases of being the parent of a child of compulsory school age, namely 8 years old, and failing to send her to school.

One case occurred between January 1, 2022, and June 10, 2022, which resulted in no separate penalty.
The second case happened between March 11, 2022, and June 17, 2022, and resulted in Hill being fined £440.
Hill pleaded not guilty to both charges but was found guilty.
She was ordered to pay £44 to victim services and £200 in court costs.
