A huge emergency service presence was spotted in Darlington last night and it was confirmed this morning that one person had been rushed to hospital.
Haughton Road outside of Bannatyne Gym was closed for a number of hours at around 9pm last night as emergency services converged on the area.
Drivers were asked to use alternative routes while emergency services attended the incident.
It was confirmed in a statement this morning from North East Ambulance Service that one person had been rushed to hospital following the incident.

A spokesperson for the service said: “We received a call at 19.10h to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a cyclist on Freeman's Place in Darlington.
“We dispatched two ambulance crews, a doctor, a rapid response paramedic and a clinical team leader. One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital.”
