An Italian restaurant in the North East has closed its doors for the last time after 25 years in the industry.
In a statement issued by the Tuscano’s, it said the closure was to allow for a “long deserved rest.”
Found on Winchester Street, South Shields, Newcastle, the restaurant thanked its “fabulous” customers, families and friends.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the restaurant said: “After 25 years at Tuscanos we have decided to close our doors, hang up our aprons and retire for a long-deserved rest.

“We want to thank all our fabulous customers, families and friends who have always supported us and enjoyed our fresh Italian food.
“If you have a gift voucher please send us a message and we will be able to reimburse you.
“Love Tuscano’s.”
Residents were sad to hear the news but many wished the best for the restaurant.
