There are a number of street works and road works taking place across Darlington in the coming days, so we’ve pulled together a full list of works that you should know about.
A full list of roadworks could be quite long, but thankfully many of the works taking place are minor.
However, some of the works could result in disruption to traffic flow in the town, with some even resulting in full road closures.
Here’s the full list of road closures and major road works taking place in Darlington:
Parkgate – Lane Closure
Parkgate is set to have a lane closed from February 7 until Ferbruary 13 due to works by Northern Gas Networks.
The works will see Gas Safety Regulation Disconnection.

Thompson Street East- Two-way traffic signals
Two-way traffic signals are going to be in place on Thompson Street East as part of works by BT.
The works will see the installation 11m of one way poly duct in carriageway and clearing a blockage on the footway.
The works will be in place from February 6 until February 8.
Geneva Road - Multi-way signals
On Geneva Road there will be multi-way signals in place due to works by Northern Gas Networks.
The works have been in place from February 2 and will be in place until February 24 and will see utility and repair work to pipes belonging to Northern Gas Networks.
Parkside – Multi-way signals
Multi-way signals will be in place on Parkside due to works taking place for Northern Gas Networks.
The works will see utility and repair work on pipes belonging to Northern Gas.

The works have been in place from November 14 2022 until February 17 2023.
Neasham Road – Multi-way signals
Works at Neasham Road from Northern Gas Networks will see multi-way signals in place.
The works have been in place from January 13 and will be in place until February 24.
Utility repair and maintenance works are expected to be carried out on pipes belonging to Northern Gas Networks.
Neasham Road – Two-way signals
Northumbrian Water are expected to be carrying out works at this location from February 6 until February 10.
Two-way signals will be in place at this location for utility repair and maintenance works at pipes belonging to Northumbrian Water.
Faverdale Avenue – Two-way signals
Two-way signals have been in place on Faverdale Avenue since November 7 2022 and will be in place until February 10.
The works are in place for a new Lidl development in the area.

Edward Pease Way – Two-way signals
From February 6 until February 27 work will be in place on this road and two-way signals leading to some traffic disruption.
The works will see the excavating of and connecting to gas main supply for a new housing development in the area.
