Two 15-year-old boys have been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car early this morning (Thursday, February 2) in what police described as a “distressing” incident.
At around 8.46am, a member of the public contacted 999 after a crash on Yew Tree Lane, near Ashfield College.
Two pedestrian boys were seriously injured when a car crashed into a wall at the location.

The 15-year-olds have since been taken to hospital for treatment by Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were also at the scene to make the area safe.
The parents of the boys have been informed by police.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Road and path closures are in place while emergency crews attended the location and an initial investigation into the incident is carried out. Please make alternative arrangements if you plan to travel in this area.
“This will have been a distressing incident to witness, and we urge those who have been affected by the events to seek the necessary help if needed.”
