Officers investigating the death of a man in a Newcastle suburb have today (Tuesday) charged a suspect with murder.
Shortly after 8.20pm on January 20, officers were alerted by the ambulance service following a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Brigham Avenue area of Kenton.
Officers attended the scene and found Jason Lord, 50, of Newcastle, who had suffered facial injuries consistent with having been assaulted.
He was sadly confirmed as deceased at the scene. Specially-trained family liaison officers are continuing to offer Jason’s family support at this difficult time.
