Greggs fans were past-y themselves on Monday as the chain opened a new branch in County Durham.
The much-loved brand opened its doors in Stanley on Monday (January 30) morning, bringing favourites including sausage rolls and steak bakes to the town, along with 10 new jobs.
The new Stanley branch promises a ‘fresh new look’ and offers seating inside.

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Stanley has brought 10 new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
The store, which will be open from 6am til 8.30pm daily, also offers click-and-collect orders via the Greggs app.
Among the famous Greegs’ fayre are hot drinks, breakfast deals and vegan options including the vegan sausage roll.

The branch also has a warm unit with hot items including potato wedges and goujons.

The opening is part of the company’s plans to set up shop in 150 new locations in 2023.
Earlier this month the Geordie bakery revealed sales surged by 23% in 2022 despite increasing the prices of its sausage rolls and other items several times during the year.
The sausage roll, which started 2022 at £1, cost £1.20 by the beginning of 2022.
