A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm as another man was taken to hospital in Darlington overnight.
Officers were called to an address on Shearwater Avenue in Darlington, shortly before midnight on Sunday (January 29) following reports that a man had been injured.
A 28-year-old man was found with lacerations to his arm, thumb and head, and was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Another man, 49, was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and was taken to Darlington custody where he remains.
The 28-year-old’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
An ambulance crew also rushed to the scene to assist officers.
Police have now launched an investigation into the incident with enquiries ongoing.
Officers remained at the scene on Shearwater Avenue on Monday (January 30) morning with two police vans in attendance.

A spokesperson for Durham Police added: “We attended an address in Shearwater Avenue, Darlington, just before midnight last night (January 29) following a report that a man had been injured.
