PRAYERS and messages of support continue to pour in for the tragic stabbing victim named locally as Holly Newton.
An online fundraiser has also been set up for the teen also known as Holly Olivia.
A murder investigation has been launched after the 15-year-old died on Hexham's Priestpopple.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and later on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.
Another 16-year-old boy also suffered injuries in the incident on Friday consistent with having been caused by a bladed article. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
It comes as Hexham Abbey has been opened up for those wanting to light a candle.
A spokesperson for Hexham Abbey said: "The Rector and community at Hexham Abbey are devastated by the shocking death of one of our young people.
"We will be holding in our prayers all those whose lives have been shattered by this tragic event."
