A man was arrested following an alleged "ramming" of a police car and other vehicles and a short pursuit last night.
Cleveland Police said a report was received of a vehicle being allegedly driven "erratically" on the High Street, in Stockton, at 9.25pm, on Friday (January 27).
A force spokesman said response officers attended and the Ford Focus was driven into a number of other vehicles, including a police vehicle.
"A short pursuit took place whereby the vehicle was driven towards Durham Road, where the driver got out and made off on foot, behind the old Mile House pub.
"Officers detained a man after a short foot pursuit."
The spokesperson confirmed a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and criminal damage.

He was subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.
Pictures of the scene show a slightly damaged police car with its bumper hanging off, while a group of police officers can be seen next to several other emergency vehicles.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that the vehicle was reversed and smashed into a police vehicle before being driven over a patch of grass, where the vehicle was abandoned.
