An appeal has been launched after a pensioner was robbed by teenagers in broad daylight while walking near a North East playpark.
Police have launched an appeal for more information after a man, 67, was pushed to the ground and mugged by three teenagers while out on a walk in Redcar on Monday (January 23) around 10am.
The incident, which happened in the vicinity of a playpark and open ground near to Micklow Close, saw the man approached by the teens before they pushed him to the ground with a motorbike and demanded money from him.
Cleveland Police have said the suspects stole a quantity of cash from the 67-year-old before fleeing the scene.

In a statement today, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "The incident occurred at around 10am on Monday (January 23when the man was walking in the vicinity of a playpark and open ground near to Micklow Close.
"It is believed the man was approached by three teenage boys one of which was riding a motorbike that has been described as an off-road style bike.
"The bike was used to push the man to the floor before the suspects demanded him hand over his money.
"The suspects stole a quantity of cash from the man before making off from the scene.
"Thankfully, the man did not sustain any physical injuries but he has been left shaken by the incident.

The suspects have been described as being in their late teens, while the motorbike rider was thought to have worn a red jacket and black crash helmet.
Officers are appealing to anyone with CCTV footage or information regarding the incident to get in contact with police.

They have also asked anyone with footage which might have captured the bike to get in touch.
