Tributes have poured in following the death of a long-serving former Teesside politician.
Former Middlesbrough Counciller Bob Brady has died at the age of 83, according to a statement released by the Middlesbrough Labour Party.
"It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our great friend Bob Brady," they wrote. "Bob was a much loved and long-serving councillor on Middlesbrough Council," the statement read.
"Many will have fond and warm memories of Bob and he won't be forgotten. Our most sincere condolences to his family."

Current councillor Ian Blades wrote on Facebook: "Bob was a total gent, a top professional who did more than most for Middlesbrough. He was also a great laugh and a joy to be around. RIP Bob."
Ayresome ward councillor Denise Rooney also wrote, "Bob was a bit of a legend in MBC, remember his tenure in the late 80's. Always full of fun."
Mr Brady was first elected to Middlesbrough Council in 1973 as a councillor for Thorntree, and during the course of his decades-long service to the town held stints as Deputy Mayor and Vice Chair of the Council.

After losing his seat in a shock defeat at the 2007 election, he was voted back in at the next possible opportunity in 2011. He stood down as a councillor at the 2019 local elections after nearly half a century in service to Middlesbrough.
