Two males were arrested after armed police stopped a car allegedly stolen in a burglary before recovering weapons and suspected drugs.
Officers received a report of a burglary yesterday (Wednesday, January 18) morning at around 6.50am on Southwood in Coulby Newham.
The incident saw an Audi A7 and cash stolen from an address.
Armed officers spotted the suspected stolen vehicle while on patrol in the Hartburn area of Stockton at around 4am this morning (Thursday, January 19).
When police attempted to stop it, the driver made off from police and headed towards the Billingham area at speeds of over 100mph.

After a short chase, the vehicle came to a stop on Portrack Lane when it lost a tyre.
Two males, aged 16 and 21, were arrested and a machete and suspected drugs were recovered from the vehicle.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, drug driving, failing to stop, burglary and theft, possession of class B and C drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and failing to provide a sample for analysis.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft, possession of class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both males remain in police custody at this time.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Officers are appealing for CCTV or ring doorbell footage of anyone acting suspiciously on Southwood in Coulby Newham around 6:50am on Wednesday 18th December.
