Emergency services have confirmed that the body of a man has been recovered from the sea in the North East after concerned calls from members of the public.
Cleveland Police and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended Redcar seafront on Tuesday (January 17) morning after reports of a man's body floating on the water.
On Wednesday (January 18), officers from the police force confirmed a man's body was recovered.

The force has said his next of kin have been informed.
No details as to his identity have been released.
A force spokesperson said: “Police and other emergency services attended the seafront at Redcar just before 8am this morning after a caller reported he believed a man’s body was in the sea. Officers have notified the man’s next of kin and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

“The man’s death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
The NEAS confirmed they sent an ambulance to the incident.
A spokesperson said: "We received a call at 7.58am this morning to reports of an incident at the Redcar seafront in Teesside. We dispatched one ambulance crew."
