A County Durham school has been forced to close after a burst water pipe has led to the school building having no water.
Prince Bishop's Community Primary School in Bishop Auckland revealed on Tuesday (January 17) that it would need to temporarily shut and that it would also need to be closed on Wednesday (January 18).
According to Durham County Council's website - "The school will close on Tuesday, 17 January 2023 (All day ) and re-open on Wednesday, 18 January 2023 (Morning ). Reason for closure: Burst water pipe and therefore no water."
However, in a statement issued directly from the school on Tuesday, there are hopes that it could reopen on Wednesday.
The statement said: "Reminder: School is closed today due to a burst water pipe. We are expecting it to be repaired today and for school to be open tomorrow. We will keep all parents informed via email and text."
