Paddy Almond was this morning (Sunday, January 15) due to have an operation to relieve pressure on his brain.

The referee spoke with the Quakers defender around five minutes prior to his departure from the field, and in the wake of his substitution, he was taken to a hospital in Southend for a brain scan.
That scan revealed a bleed on the brain, and he was subsequently transferred to a specialist unit in London.
Now, following his second brain scan, specialists have made a decision to keep Paddy under observation before they make a decision on whether to operate.
