Two people have appeared in court charged with the murder of a ‘much-loved’ father of one.
Adam Thomson died following an incident in Sydenham Road, Hartlepool, at around 3am on Wednesday, January 4.
A murder investigation was launched by Cleveland Police following the death of the 30-year-old.
Sarah Hadfield, 34, of Brenda Road, and Anthony Hadfield, 39, of Wensleydale Street, both Hartlepool, have been charged with the murder of Mr Thomson.
The pair appeared at Teesside Crown Court this morning (Monday) for a brief preliminary hearing.

Both defendants appeared in court via video link and spoke only to confirm their names and dates of birth.
No pleas were entered to the charge.
Eight other people – five men and three women - arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Wednesday have now been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

In a tribute released through the force, Adam’s family said: “Adam was a much-loved father, son and brother who will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.
“He was a quiet lad, and a doting father to his three-year-old daughter. We are devastated to lose him so young.
“We would request privacy at this time to allow us to grieve.”
The two accused defendants were remanded in custody until they are due to go on trial on July 3 this year.
