A primary school in Darlington has been forced to shut down today, following an electrical fault.
High Coniscliffe CE Primary School, located on Ulnaby Lane, High Coniscliffe, Darlington, have confirmed that they have closed their doors today (Monday 9), owing to an ongoing electrical fault.
The fault, which is assumed to have sprung up over the weekend, would make teaching and pastoral care impossible, giving management no choice but to close the school for the time being.
Though the school is currently working to fix the issue as soon as possible, they have yet to issue an estimated time for reopening.
The school teaches 101 students, between ages 4 and 11, who will not be able to attend classes today.
This morning, the school said: "We are unfortunately unable to open school today due to an electrical fault. We will send out an update as soon as we have further information.
"We apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause - please spread the word to other parents."
