A North Yorkshire care home has been transformed into Graceland to mark the King of Rock turning 88.

Boroughbridge Manor care home, in Boroughbridge, was turned into the home of Elvis, Graceland, to mark his birthday.

Many of the care home's residents are big Elvis fans and had a great time listening to his classics, as well as watch his old movies.

One resident, Rose, said she had a great time taking part with the experience bringing back old memories.

She said: “I loved Elvis growing up.  Listening to all his old hits has brought back so many memories.

"We’ve all had a brilliant time reminiscing about our dance hall days!”

The care home runs a "varied life enrichment programme" which aims to keep residents active, engaging them with physical, mental, and spiritual activities geared towards patient interests.

The care home, which is run by Barchester healthcare, provides residential and dementia care from long term to short term stays.

Mark Hurst, general manager at the home, said: “Lots of our residents are big Elvis fans and love his music.
