Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died following a serious incident in a North East street in the early hours of Wednesday (January 4).
Emergency services were called to Sydenham Road in Hartlepool at 3am following reports of a 'serious incident'.
A police cordon was erected for much of the day, with specialist forensic officers seen on the road and police officers manning the cordon.

On Wednesday afternoon, Cleveland Police have confirmed that a man aged 30 has died as a result of the reported incident.
Officers are treating his death as suspected murder and are appealing for witnesses or residents with CCTV or dash cam footage showing the reported incident to come forward with information.
A silver Ford Focus vehicle which is believed to have been involved in the incident has been seized.
Seven people have been arrested in connection with the reported incident and remain in custody.
Enquiries are still continuing in the area of Sydenham Road and police would ask that anyone living in the area with any concerns or information regarding the incident to please approach officers.
