A North East school has been forced to partially close today affecting a number of pupils.

Gurney Pease Academy, found on Dodsworth Street in Darlington, has closed their nursery and reception classes today (Wednesday, January 4).

Durham County Council have said the closure is due to the school having no heating.

It comes as the North East is expected to see further colder weather this week after brief, milder, temperatures.
