A North East shopping centre has celebrated the success it experienced this year after welcoming new businesses and raising money for charity.
The Bridges Shopping Centre (BSC), in Sunderland, has said it has been left delighted after welcoming a variety of new businesses to the venue in 2022.
Retailers which joined the centre include outdoor clothing shop, Trespass, computer and gaming store, Be More Geek and clothing expert, Leading Labels.
BSC have also confirmed they are looking to bring in more retailers to the centre next year, and will share more information soon.

In a statement, Karen Eve, Centre Director at the Bridges, said 2022 had been a busy year and the centre is already looking forward to its future.
She said: “We have seen a number of new and exciting retailers coming into the Bridges who have been really well received,” she said.
“And we are continuing to work hard to bring more retailers to the centre in 2023 and look forward to sharing the details of them very soon.”
Other businesses such as aesthetic firm, Laser Clinic and training organisation, Uplift also came to the centre.

Meanwhile, BSC said they were pleased long-time traders Clintons, HMV and Starbucks reaffirmed their commitment to the centre after refitting their shops and hiring more staff.
It also supports local charities, including the Red Sky Foundation, an organisation which they gave space to for a musical wishing well.

In terms of events, its student raid returned this past autumn, with thousands of students from the city’s colleges and university taking advantage of discounts and offers.
It also joined the citywide gift card scheme, allowing shoppers who purchase the cards to spend them in outlets across Sunderland and the Bridges.
Earlier this year, the centre made the decision to open earlier on Sundays, meaning shoppers can visit stores 10am.
