New parents received the only gift they could ask for this Christmas with the birth of their beautiful babies.
Welcomed into the world in the early hours of Sunday (December 25) morning, Ada-Lou Annie Richardson came as her parents’ perfect present.

Born on the labour ward of University Hospital North Durham at 3.24am on Christmas Day, Ada-Lou is mum Megan McLean and dad Stephen Richardson’s first baby together.
Ada-Lou’s dad Stephen, from Birtley, near Chester-le-Street, told The Northern Echo: “We are very relieved now Ada-Lou is here as Megan was induced early due to her not growing as expected.
“My four-year-old daughter Penny can’t wait to meet her.

“We both really liked her name so it was easy to agree on. The Lou part is after Megan’s nanna Louisa which is a middle name that runs in her family. Annie is after my gran who died six years ago.”
The new addition to the family was born weighing 7lb 3oz.
