A 43-year-old has been charged with murder after a man was found stabbed to death.
Police were called to an address in John Street, Cullercoats, North Tyneside, at around 4.30pm on Friday.
Officers found 45-year-old Lee Santos, from Wallsend, suffering from stab wounds.
Northumbria Police said: “Sadly, despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.”
The force said a 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with murder.
Andrew Peacock, of John Street, Cullercoats, is due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Boxing Day.
