What a difference a couple of days make in the Yorkshire Dales from heavy snow and freezing temperatures on Saturday today the roads around Hawes were only passable with extreme care because of flooding.
The North Yorkshire Weather Updates facebook site showed the huge swing in winter temperatures at the weekend when Wensleydale and Swaledale were swamped by snow.
This morning many vehicles strugged as the B6255 into Hawes and on the main A684 road out of Hawes towards Apersett. The temperature has swung from freezing at the weekend to 12 degrees centigrade today.
With heavy rain expected during Monday the situation could get worse before it gets better and drivers are being urged to take extreme care and not take chances through deep flood water.
