A man was taken to hospital after a crash involving two cars in a County Durham town on Friday (December 16) morning.
Emergency services were alerted after a Vauxhall Corsa crashed into a parked Audi A4 on Passfield Way, Peterlee, at about 8am.
The driver of the Vauxhall was taken to hospital as police dealt with the incident, which caused severe disruption a main road from the town to the A19.
A Durham Police spokesperson said: "We were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Passfield Way, Peterlee, just before 8am this morning (December 16).
"The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a parked Audi A4.
"Colleagues from the North East Ambulance Service and County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service also attended.
"The male driver of the Corsa was taken to James Cook Hospital.
"The vehicles will be recovered."

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 7.49 to a one vehicle road traffic collision on Passfield Way, Peterlee.
"We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and one vehicle from our Hazardous Area Response Team. One patient was taken to James Cook Hospital."
