A huge cannabis farm has been uncovered by police following a tip off from a concerned resident.
Officers raided a property on Whessoe Road in Darlington on Wednesday and found more than 600 cannabis plants inside the house along with cultivation equipment.
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the warrant on suspicion of production of cannabis.
He has since been charged and remanded to appear at Teesside Crown Court on January 12.

Darlington neighbourhood Inspector Dean Haythornwaite said: “I’d like to say a big thank you to residents for coming forward and providing us with information which enables us to obtain warrants such as these.
“It’s with your help that we have been able to take a substantial cannabis grow out of circulation.
“I hope this sends a clear message to drug dealers in Darlington that you will be caught.”
