Burger King is to open a new branch in the North East, and has promised to give away 1,000 free burgers to celebrate.
After months of construction, a new Burger King restaurant has opened in Gateshead's Metrocentre, located in Gateshead, NE11 9ZG.
If the newly opened fast food restaurant appeals to you, then you have the chance to get your hands on a free burger. On Wednesday 14 December, guests can get their hands on a free Whopper of Plant Based Whopper, as part of a 'Whopper Wednesday' deal.

To get a bite of the action, you will have to be quick. 1,000 burgers are on offer as part of a first-come-first-served deal, and guests will have to head to https://burgerkinguk.app.link/gateshead-metroasis-free-whopper to retrieve a code, and then simply show the code to staff at the counter to claim their burger.
On the new restaurant, Alasdair Murdoch, CEO of Burger King UK, commented: “We know the people of GATESHEAD love the great-tasting food of Burger King, so we’ve listened to their requests and are very excited to bring all their favourites to their neighbourhood. Our home – of the Whopper! – is their home.”
This comes following a raft of shop and eatery closures at the Metrocentre, such as JG Windows, Next Home and Beauty, and Joules, leaving some customers worried about the future of the shopping centre.
However, this new opening has created new jobs in the centre and is bound to bring in trade ahead of Christmas, as shops, cafes and restaurants gear up for the busiest few weeks of the year.
