A rural pub named Best Gastro Pub in the North earlier this year has opened a set of quaint shepherd’s huts complete with king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms.
The new shepherd’s huts at The Apple Inn have arrived just in time for Christmas and claim to boast all the luxuries you need for a cosy minibreak.
The pub, in Lucker, near Bamburgh, Northumberland was named Best Gastro Pub in the North earlier this year and is on the shortlist for the North East Tourism Awards.

The shepherd’s huts - named Badger’s Sett, Otter’s Couch, Squirrel’s Drey and Foxes Den – all sleep two people and come with king size beds, wood burning stoves and en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast is also included in the nightly rate.
And the huts are dog friendly, so visitors need not leave their four-legged friends at home.
The owners say the venue offers a relaxing, beautiful rural location with award-winning food available at the pub just next door.
Johny Johnson from The Apple Inn said: “Everyone who comes to The Apple Inn, whether visiting us to eat, sleep or both – with and without dogs can expect the warmest of welcomes.
"It’s a place where we want you to feel completely relaxed and to enjoy the menu that we’ve had so much fun creating. Our crowd-pleasing kids’ menu completes the deal for the whole family.”
