A person has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a lorry and a van early on Saturday (December 10) morning.
Officers closed the eastbound slip road off the A66 onto the A67 at Barnard Castle on Saturday following reports of a crash between a lorry and van.
Police and ambulance crews both attended the scene and the slip road remained closed for several hours through the morning while the vehicles were recovered.

One person was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by paramedics with a hand injury.
A North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) spokesperson confirmed: “We received a call at 07.18am to attend a road traffic collision on the A66 eastbound between a lorry and a van.
“One patient was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital with a hand injury.”
The Northern Echo has contacted Durham Constabulary for comment.
