Police have found a body in the search for missing man Peter Edwards.
Officers were called to an area of woodland behind Marshall Drive, Brotton at around 8am this morning to reports of a body being found.
No formal identification has taken place however the family of Peter Edwards have been made aware and are being supported by officers.

A spokesperson for Cleveland Police added: “Police were called at around 8am this morning, Wednesday 7th December, to a report of a body found in woodland behind Marshall Drive in Brotton.
“Our thoughts are with Peter’s family at this difficult time.”

Peter was last seen at 5.42pm on Saturday October 22, walking at the side of Asda at Skelton Retail Park, and hasn’t been seen by his family since.
Last month (November 29) Peter’s mum Marilyn made an emotional plea for him to return home.
Marilyn Edwards told how she was ‘dog tired’ and ‘can’t sleep’ and explained how she became concerned for him when she found the lunchbox she had made for him still there when she woke up the next day.
