One resident has paid tribute to a woman who was found dead at a North East property, as police continue their search for a man wanted in connection to their enquiries.
On Wednesday (December 7), crime scene investigators and a large presence of police vehicles were seen on Brady Street in Sunderland after a woman in her 40s was found dead at a property on the street at around 12.30pm on Saturday (December 3).
Emergency services attended a house in Sunderland over the weekend in response to welfare reports, and Northumbria Police have now issued an appeal to help find Alexander Carr in connection with the incident.
Paying tribute to the deceased, one resident who lives on the street described the woman as a "lovely lady."

They said while they did not know her well, she was always "nice", "happy" and "smiling" when they saw her.
Another resident said police had been in the area since Saturday, and had been passing through the surrounding streets in cars and vans.
Adding to this, another resident said the street had only really seen minor incident before this and told The Northern Echo he had never seen an incident like this before.
Meanwhile, Brady Street was fairly quiet with police vans parked outside the property next to a forensics tent, and a police cordon set up near the rear of the houses.
On Tuesday (December 6) evening, Northumbria Police appealed for help tracking down Alexander Carr, who is wanted in connection with the fatal incident which is now being treated as suspicious.

Carr, 32, who has links to the Newcastle city centre, Jesmond and Sunderland, is now wanted by Northumbria Police.
Northumbria Police are also appealing to members of the public for help in finding Carr.
Members of the public are urged not to approach Carr, as police believe he knows he is wanted by law enforcement and may be “actively evading arrest”.
Extensive searches are ongoing at a number of associated addresses across the Force in a bid to locate him and ensure he is arrested as soon as possible.
Superintendent Lyn Peart, of Northumbria Police, said: “We are determined to locate Carr as soon as possible and I would ask for the public’s support.
“Please take a close look at his image – if you think you have seen him or know where he may be, please get in touch with us immediately.
“Members of the public are asked not to approach Carr and instead alert police if you have seen him.
“Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family at this devastating time and we will continue to offer them any support they need.”
“If you’ve seen Carr or know where he may be, please call 999 quoting crime number 143632K/22,” police said."
