As the Met Office predicts snowfall as early as next week, a map has revealed the full extent of how much of the white stuff will fall.
With temperatures already starting to plummet a cold front coming from Scandinavia could bring much cooler air.
The weather forecaster has warned of mist and fog will be slow to clear across the North East.
Thanks to clear skies and lower temperatures showers are set to turn wintery by the time Thursday, December 8 rolls around.

A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “Showers will fall increasingly as snow in the north, even to lower levels at times with notable accumulations over the Scottish mountains.”
However, according to WXCharts, snow is set to blanket much of the UK including the North East

The forecaster warns that 3cm of snow could fall in the North East on December 8.
Meanwhile, snow is set to continue to fall between Thursday, December 8 and Sunday, December 18.
