North East sporting and entertainment stars have jumped to congratulate Lioness Jill Scott after she was crowned Queen of the Jungle.
Celebrities from across the region and Jill’s former team mates united in congratulating the Sunderland-born star on her I’m A Celebrity win.
Scott, who is on a winning streak after bringing home the Women’s Euros trophy in the summer, beat off Hollyoaks star Owen Warner and former Health Secretary Matt Hancock to scoop the regal jungle title.

Previous Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt, from County Durham, took to Instagram to congratulate Scott on the win. The 2016 winner who rose to fame on Gogglebox posted: “So happy this Lioness powerhouse of a Northern woman is bringing home the crown.
“Jill you’re the bloody Angel of the North.”
And Jill’s North Yorkshire-born fellow Lioness Beth Mead also heaped praise on the new Queen of the Jungle, tweeting: “I’m so proud of you @JillScottJS8. QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE.”

Scott joined Ant and Dec’s ‘jungle club’ Instagram Live after the ITV show where the pair congratulated her on the win as she joked: “Did you hate it [the winner] was a Mackem.”
Ant quipped back, “Well you know that grates slightly,” while co-presenter Dec added, “That’s the only thing!”
Meanwhile hundreds of fans gathered at Stack Seaburn to watch Sunderland-native Jill make the final.

It comes as voting figures released by ITV showed that Scott won 57.5% of the public vote, compared with Warner’s 42.3%.
The former health secretary Matt Hancock was eliminated in the final’s first round after he earned just 21.7% of the public vote.
A total of 10.1 million viewers tuned into Sunday (November 27) night’s final on ITV, making it the most-watched since Harry Redknapp won in 2018.
Actor and reigning I’m A Celebrity! champion Danny Miller said he was delighted to pass on the throne to Scott.
He posted: “Deserved winner @JillScottJS8! A pleasure to hand over the crown to you! Enjoy it!”
