Hundreds of people headed to Spennymoor High Street for the annual Christmas Tree lights switch- on.
The town’s finest, The Spennymoor Town Band and The Spennymoor Youth Theatre Group entertained the festive crowds ahead of the 6pm switch-on.
The event was hosted by BBC Radio Tees presenter Paul ‘Goffy’ Gough, with a special guest appearance by Santa Claus.
Town Mayor Dean Ranyard was on hand to switch on the lights.
Colin Ranson Facilities Manager for Spennymoor Town Council said: “It was a magical couple of hours and it was so good to see so many local people on the streets supporting the traders in these challenging times. I want to wish them all the very best for the season ahead.
“The entertainment was top quality and it was a real credit to the town of Spennymoor. It was lovely to see such a positive response from the locals to the evening.”
