A fire broke out at a Darlington business last night and emergency services were spotted on the scene.
A launderette on Yarm Road in Darlington, Dirt Busters, went up in flames last night at around 7pm.
The fire brigade left around 8pm and it is understood that the fire was not started deliberately.
The full extent of the damage is not yet known.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Reports of a fire in a business premises on Yarm Road, Darlington came into CDDFRS control just before 7pm on Thursday, 24 November.
“Crews from Darlington attended, on arrival crews found a fire could be seen behind the shuttered premise. Crews gained entry and extinguished the fire using one hose reel. Crews left the scene just before 8pm. The incident was accidental. Police were informed.”
A spokesperson from Durham Police said: “Police were called shortly after 7pm on Thursday (November 24) to reports of a fire at a premises on Yarm Road, Darlington.
“Officers assisted fire colleagues at the scene with traffic management.
“Thankfully, nobody was injured.”
