A new pizza restaurant and bar will open in Darlington very soon after its owners teased what people can expect from the town's newest venue.

The Hideaway Bar and Pizzeria, which will be based at 26 Duke Street, takes over the old Salvos Cucina Restaurant - and has promised delicious pizzas and equally-delicious drinks.

So far, the new restaurant has kept its menu and opening date as a future surprise to customers - but has put plenty on its social media channels to build anticipation whenever Hideaway opens.

What we do know so far is that the new pizzeria will offer people pizza by the slice and a range of drinks at its bar area.

Already, plenty of people have started to wish the new business the best of luck, including fellow businesses in Darlington.

Commenting on one of its posts, the Eco Hair Salon in the town said: "Woo hoo - Congrats guys. We can’t wait to come over and see you for a drink," while Darlington's MP Peter Gibson added: "Good Luck and a great new addition to the street."

While an open date hasn't been set - Hideaway have recommended people follow its social media channels on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for more updates.

Hideaway will join a host of other restaurants, bars, and independent businesses on Duke Street in Darlington, while offering pizzas, craft beers, winners, and will show live sports.
