After 9 years, a popular North East pub has announced that they are leaving their current location in early 2023.
The Ship Inn at Saltburn-by-the-Sea took to social media to tell patrons that their landlord, Greene King, has repurchased their lease, meaning that they will be departing from their venue on 16 January 2023.
The pub has become well known for its tasty and good-value food, as well as its scenic location on the North Yorkshire coastline.

However, fans of the food are not to fear - as the pub will relocate and reopen only a few kilometres down the road, at a new venue in Loftus, North Yorkshire.
On social media, owners Lisa and Ian Burton thanked all of their clients, saying: "We would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your support over the past 9 years, we have had some amazing times and got to know some amazing people who have become good friends.
"Though this is the end of our time at The Ship, ourselves and our fabulous team look forward to welcoming you all to our new venue The Reunion Bar & Restaurant in Loftus, which will be opening in early 2023."
Their new location, a former school, is only four miles away from their current one. The pub's owners will be transforming the venue into a family bar and restaurant, with a children's soft play area.

The owners said: "We aim to carry on our tradition of delivering the best experience to our customers, and our staff and our team are coming with us."
They also said that they will be making more announcements concerning their new location over the coming weeks, and will stay at their current location in Saltburn-by-the-Sea over the festive period.
