Emergency services were on a major Darlington Road yesterday evening around 5:45pm, causing some tailbacks.
Woodland Road was very busy yesterday evening (Sunday, November 20) due to increased traffic caused by The Christmas Lights Switch On in the town centre, as well as an abandoned vehicle on Woodland Road.
The Northern Echo saw that a police car and a police van were on the scene halfway down Woodland Road near the Shell garage just before 6pm.
A spokeswoman from Durham Police said: “Police were called at 5pm last night (November 20) to reports of an abandoned vehicle on Woodland Road in Darlington.
“There were no sightings of the vehicle when officers arrived.”
