Lottery players were left confused on Thursday (November 17) when the evening’s Set For Life results were hit by a delay.

Players of the Set For Life draw expected to see the winning numbers revealed shortly after 8pm on Thursday evening, but took to social media to express their confusion over why the results were nowhere to be seen more than 45 minutes later.

The draw gives players the chance to win a top prize of £10,000 a month for 30 years. It takes place every Monday and Thursday.

Some players took to Twitter to question why the numbers hadn’t been released, with one even joking: “When are they [the numbers] going to be posted, I need to know if I’m going to bed or on Rightmove.”

By 8.45pm the winning numbers were still nowhere to be seen.

The National Lottery was forced to issue an update to players on why the numbers had been delayed, explaining the issue was due to a 'minor network issue'.

Posting on social media the company said: “There has been a minor network issue which has prevented us from live-streaming tonight’s Set For Life draw. This also impacted the voiceover and graphics, but didn’t affect the draw itself, which was conducted in the presence of an independent adjudicator.

"The results will be available on our website as usual later this evening (hopefully within the next hour or so)."
