Diners trying to visit a 26th floor North East restaurant with stunning 360° views have been left bitterly disappointed after turning up to find it was closed as its only lift had broken down.
Customers booked in at the 3sixty restaurant and cocktail bar in Newcastle’s Hadrian Tower Skyscraper turned up for their reservations to find the venue was closed with no prior notice.
The swanky destination first opened in May 2021 and is the highest in the region, boasting panoramic views of the city.

The Northern Echo understands the venue has been shut since early October following issues with the lift – the only way to get from the entrance to the dining area on the 26th floor.
Furious diners have left one-star reviews on TripAdvisor as they shared their disappointment at the venue closing without notice.
One even slammed the restaurant’s poor communication as ‘disgraceful’. The reviewer said: “After going to 3sixty this morning we were shocked to find it was closed. We had no warning! To not even give us the courtesy of letting us know is absolutely disgraceful!”
Another said their daughters 18th birthday had been ‘ruined’.
The venue had launched a new menu back in September before it was forced to close due to the lift issues.
In a statement a spokesperson for 3sixty said: “3SIXTY is currently temporarily closed following issues and maintenance surrounding the only lift up to the venue. At present, we are working with the lift engineers on a daily basis regarding works being required to the lift itself – something which is unfortunately out of our control.
