Residents have been left shocked after a man was found dead at a Newcastle home early on Monday (November 14) morning.
Police received a call shortly after 6am with reports of concern for the welfare of a man at an address in the Arthur’s Hill area of Newcastle. Emergency services attended the scene and found a man deceased at a property on Dilston Road.
Officers say his death is being treated as ‘unexplained’ and a full investigation has been launched into the incident.

A police presence remained in place throughout the morning with officers speaking to residents and police tape seen blocking the entrance to a property.
Forensic teams were also seen in the area earlier on Monday morning.
Locals described a heavy emergency response early on Monday with one telling The Northern Echo: "I saw the ambulances this morning, but I don't know anything else. The police have been there all morning."
Another resident, who did not want to be named, expressed their sadness at the death, adding: “It’s such a shock and I will pray for the family.”
Northumbria Police released a statement confirming an investigation had been launched. It said: “Shortly after 6am today (Monday) we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man at an address on Dilston Road, Newcastle.
“Emergency services attended the scene and found a man who was deceased. His death is currently being treated as unexplained and a full investigation has been launched.

“An increased police presence is in the area as officers carry out enquiries.

The North East Ambulance Service confirmed their attendance with three ambulances sent to the scene.
A spokesperson said: “We were called to a police incident at a private address in the Arthur's Hill area of Newcastle at 6:03am this morning.
"We sent three emergency ambulances, one Hazardous Area Response Team and one doctor from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.”
