The town’s remembrance service started in Holy Trinity Church on Woodland road at 10am.
After an official Service of Remembrance a parade, a long with onlookers, made their way down Vane Terrace to the Further Act of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in the grounds of Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Pictures showed hundreds of attendees, respectively sporting their red poppies, surrounding the Cenotaph.
A two minutes silence was then held at the site at 11am as many dropped their heads with just the sounds of pattering rain on the leaves and ground being heard over the quiet.
Following this the laying of wreaths took place with various members of Darlington society including mayor Anne-Marie Curry and Darlington MP Peter Gibson.
