A County Durham homeowner has been named and shamed and heavily fined after failing to clean up huge mounds of dog poo that had been left in her front garden.
Rachel-Louise Boddy, of Windsor Terrace, New Kyo, was fined over £1000 from Durham County Council after piles of poo were discovered by council inspectors during a routine visit.
When council officers attended the property, they found countless piles of dog faeces spread across the whole of the front garden, while children's toys were seen strewn across the garden, covered in poo.

On the first occasion, council inspectors warned her to clean the garden and remove the waste - handing her a community protection notice.
However, she failed to do so and was taken to court by Durham County Council.
In court, the homeowner was found guilty in her absence for breaching the notice.
She has now been ordered to pay a total of £1096 after failing to remove waste including dog faeces.
