A man has been found dead in a house on a North East street while another man was left with serious injuries in an assault.
Police attended a property on Homerton Road in Middlesbrough after 5.30pm tonight (Friday, November 11).
They received reports that two men had been assaulted.
A man inside the address was pronounced dead shortly after.
Another man, aged in his 30s, was confirmed to have sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.
The deceased man has not been formally identified and detectives are working to confirm his identity and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

They are also looking into how the second man received his serious injuries.
Police believe there is no risk to the wider public and officers remain in the area to pursue enquiries.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “We would appeal for anyone with information which could assist ongoing enquiries to contact Cleveland Police on the 101 number quoting ref 204293.
